Hello everyone!

I have been seeing ring cones everywhere.

Each time I see them I am reminded of unicorn horns.

I thought a unicorn themed one would be a good idea and then I thought why not turn it into a trinket dish?

I decided to put my idea to work.

I think they turned out pretty cute and am here to share the finished product with you today.

You will need:

A Glass Bowl Or Plate, I used these dip bowls from Target

Wood Ring Cones

Gold Paint

Sponge Brush

Mod Podge

Gold Glitter

Oil Based Sharpies, Optional

Hot Glue Gun

Glue Sticks

With the sponge brush, apply a thin layer of gold paint over one of the wood ring cones.

Allow to dry.

Once dry, apply a thin layer of Mod Podge with the sponge brush and immediately cover in the gold glitter.

Allow to dry.

Shake off the excess glitter and apply another coat of Mod Podge and glitter.

Allow to dry.

Shake off the excess glitter and apply a final coat of just Mod Podge.
This will keep the glitter in it's place.

Allow to dry.

Clean your bowl or plate with a little bit of glass cleaner and a paper towel.

With the the oil based Sharpies draw a design if you desire.

I left one of my bowls plain, the other I tried to free hand some unicorn hair and a face.

Use a cotton swab soaked in nail polish to remove any mistakes.

Allow the Sharpie ink to dry for 24 hours or bake in the oven at 350o for 30 minutes.
I let mine dry instead of bake so I can't give much advice on baking.
You can find lots of instructions with a quick Google search if that's the way you want to go. 

With the hot glue gun, apply a thin layer of glue to the bottom of a dry ring cone.

Place onto the trinket dish and apply pressure for 30 seconds.

I placed a ring cone in the center of the plain trinket dish and the other off center on top of the unicorn hair. 

Super Glue might be a better option for an adhesive but I am too impatient with that stuff...

Add your jewelry and you've got yourself a trinket dish!

Who doesn't need some unicorn magic in their life?

You can do different colors for the mane or even personalize the dishes with a name or saying.

I think they turned out really cute and weren't too complicated to make.

Plus, unicorns, so hot right now...
