Makeover Monday | Spiderweb Porch

Hello everyone!
Life has been crazy lately so please accept this Halloween decoration for Makeover Monday.


Every year Erik and I cover our porch with a decorative spiderweb.



On the spiderweb we place lots of spider rings.
We have always wanted to add in a giant spider and we finally purchased one this year.
Check that off the Bucket List!
We perched the spider right above the front door so he can watch you get caught in the web!


Since our front door is metal I cut off a few of the ring bands and glued a tiny magnet on the back of a the spiders.
Then I placed them on the the door.


Walking up to our front door is like walking into a giant spider nest.
It's so fun and festive!

Fall Haul

Hello everyone!
Happy first day of fall!
Fall is my favorite season so I thought a haul was in order.
Or as Erik calls it a Faul.


I love hauls.
Especially fall hauls!


Let's start with the biggest purchase. The knit overcoat. I had been seeing so many outfits on Pinterest with a long overcoat and loved the look. I found one at Forever 21 for $75 but thought it was too expensive. I kept my eye on it and it went on sale for $50. I am cheap so I still thought it was too much for me to spend. Then while it was on sale for $50 they had another sale for 40% off all sale items. That brought the coat down to $30! I snagged that puppy so fast and I am glad I did. It is very thick and will be perfect for both fall and winter.


I have had my eyes out for a black baseball cap to wear on those days that I don't do my hair. (Everyday) I had found a few but we just didn't click. I saw this knit baseball cap while shopping for my coat at Forever 21 and decided to give it a shot. I LOVE this hat! I think it looks a little more put together since it is a knit fabric instead of a canvas fabric. Plus it was only $13! 


I saw tassel earrings everywhere this summer! I wanted to buy a pair but never got around to it. While browsing at Forever 21 for my Knit Overcoat I found these black ones that I thought would be a perfect neutral to wear with any outfit. I love these earrings. They had a little flair to your everyday outfit.


Every year I have to grab me some fall hand soaps from Bath and Body Works. I love their products. I go for the deep cleansing hand soaps because I need something that really exfoliates my skin. I got Crisp Morning AirAfternoon Apple Picking and my all time favorite Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin.
They were all on sale for $3! Holla! 


This was my very first Bath and Body Works candle. Did I mention I am cheap? Bath and Body Works was having a sale on all of their three wick candles. $10 off! I decided to grab one while I was shopping for my fall hand soaps. Erik was with me and we each took turns smelling the candles. We both liked the Pumpkin Apple candle. It smells like fall but isn't too overpowering. 


Nothing says fall to me like plaid. I have so much plaid in my fall wardrobe but I wanted to add something to our house. I found the perfect Plaid Throw at Target. It came in a few different colors but the orange one felt the most like fall. It is so soft! It's the perfect blanket to snuggle up with when the weather is rainy or to take outside and have a picnic on when it's warm. 


I have had my eye on these copper mugs for a year. Since it was fall again I decided to snatch them up. The warm copper color is perfect for fall. I can't wait to drink all the hot chocolate and apple cider in these.


Let's just say ankle booties are life. I bought a pair of black booties a few years ago and I wear them EVERYDAY! The black ankle booties did not go with every outfit so I knew I wanted to find some brown ones this year.  I found these American Eagle booties at Payless. Gotta love that BOGO. I liked the leather look and the gold zipper is the perfect accent. 

It is officially fall today and I have the perfect items to kick it off with!

Makeover Monday | Hall Bathroom Inspiration

Hello everyone!
For our next design posts we will be covering the hall bathroom.
The hall bathroom is mainly a guest bathroom right now.
I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted to do with it.
I found a few pictures on Pinterest of gray bathrooms that I really liked.
Overall they felt neutral and clean which is what I thought would make our guests most comfortable. 









I love the modern feel of these bathrooms.
The lighter color scheme makes the rooms feel more open and clean.
The hallway off of the bathroom is painted the same light gray as our front living room.
I thought that by brining this color into the bathroom it would create a nice flow and feel of consistency.
Plus we already have the paint!

Makeover Monday | Fall Cork Board Design

Hello everyone!
We have been slowly transitioning to fall over here. 
I love to decorate the cork boards above my desk for the different seasons or holidays.
Over the weekend I decorated for fall.


This is such a quick and easy way to decorate my office for any occasion.
I collect pictures, watercolors and quotes from Pinterest.
Then I print them with Costco.
It usually costs around $10.

I added some twinkle lights around the cork boards for a little more magic.
It really did set the tone for fall in my office.

Fall Bucket List

Hello everyone!
I know it's not technically fall but it is my favorite season so excuse me while I prepare.
Fall is one of my favorite times of the year.
There is so much that I always want to do but never get around to.
Since I am a visual person I thought it would be fun to create a bucket list of things Erik and I want to do this fall.
I found some colorful popsicle sticks I had around the house and we each took turns saying things we would like to do and writing them down.
Here is what we came up with:


Drink warm apple cider
Jump in the leaves
Go on a hayride
Watch It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown
Eat Candy Corn
Buy a giant spider for our front porch
Decorate/carve pumpkins
Bake pies
Take a mountain drive to see the leaves change colors
Campfires
Eat all the pumpkin things
Go to a corn maze
Go to a pumpkin patch
Buy all the fall scents
Trick or Treat


After we wrote our items I found a gold bucket I had from the Target Dollar Section.
We added in some rocks and stuck our popsicles in.
I thought the bucket was a good idea for our "bucket" list but you can use a cup, mason jar whatever you have around. 
We have it in the kitchen so we see it often and whenever we need something to do we can take a popsicle stick and go!

Makeover Monday | Office Design Part 3

Hello everyone!
I hope you are all having an amazing Labor Day.
For today's Makeover Monday we will be going over the final concept design for my office.
This is for the wall to the right of the last design post. 


I have always wanted to have a couch in my office.
It's perfect for when I need to take a break from sitting or have company over.
Velvet has made a big comeback and I love the look of a navy velvet couch.
I thought my office would be the perfect place to add this statement piece. 
To the left of the couch we have a gold lamp to add some light. 
Above the couch I wanted something to fill in the space so it wouldn't feel so open.
I looked and looked but couldn't find any artwork that I felt fit the theme of the room.
I found these printables and thought that they would be perfect to take up the space above the couch.
They are simple so I placed them in gold frames to match the other gold accents in the room
I love that the font keeps it classy but the phrase "good vibes" feels more like my personality.
To add in some color I added blush pink, black and white spotted and gold throw pillows on top of the couch.
The office feels classy and playful.
It's the perfect balance to get my creative juices flowing.

Homemade Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread

Hello everyone!
Happy September!
September is one of my favorite months because it's the start of the fall.
With fall comes beautiful foliage, comfy sweaters and everything pumpkin!
One of my favorite pumpkin treats is pumpkin chocolate chip bread.
I am obsessed with Great Harvest Bread Company's.
To start off the month right I thought I would try making my own.
I found the recipe on Pinterest.


You will need: 
3 Cups of Flour
2 Teaspoons of Ground Cinnamon
1 Teaspoon of Salt
1 Teaspoon of Baking Soda
4 Eggs
2 Cups of Sugar
2 Cups of Canned Pumpkin
1 and a 1/2 Cups 
1 and a 1/2 Cups of Chocolate Chips

In a large bowl combine flour, cinnamon, salt and baking soda. 
In a separate bowl beat the eggs, sugar, pumpkin and oil.
Stir the wet mixture into the dry mixture until just moistened. 
Fold in chocolate chips
Pour into two greased 8X4 inch loaf pans. 
Bake at 350o for 60-70 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let cool and enjoy!


The bread was delicious!
It had a crisp crust and a soft gooey center.
It was the perfect start to fall.
