DIY Ribbon American Flag

Hello everyone!
The countdown to the Fourth of July is officially on!
I am so excited to celebrate.
In honor, I made this super cute ribbon flag.

You will need:
Red, White and Blue Ribbon
A Wooden Dowel, I used 5/8"
Scissors
Ruler

Remove any stickers from the wooden dowel.
Determine the length you would like your flag.
Cut your red and white ribbon into your desired length strips.
Make sure to leave yourself some wiggle room for tying.
I decided to make my flag three feet long so I cut 3" and 2' strips to leave some room for tying.
I used a few different types of ribbon for different patterns and textures.
Customize your flag to your preference.
You can use one type of ribbon or eight!
Tie the ribbon to your dowel starting with red ribbon and ending with red ribbon.
I originally planned on making my flag accurate to the American flag with seven red stripes and six white stripes but wanted it to look fuller.
Cut your blue ribbon into your desired length of strips.
I went with 1 foot and cut them into 1" and 2' strips for wiggle room.
Tie your blue ribbon in between the red and white ribbon.
I used seven pieces of blue ribbon but feel free to use more or less.
I liked a more plain look for the ribbon flag without a string to hang it.
Add a piece of string or twine to help you hang yours if you desire.
That's it!

I think it turned out so cute!
I love the vintage, rustic look to it.
It's perfect for the Fourth of July!
What are your plans for the holiday this year?

All my love,
Autumn
