Saran Wrap Ball Game

Hello everyone!
Merry Christmas!
I am so excited to get together with family today.
My family celebrates Christmas on Christmas Eve.
We have dinner, play games and open presents.
This year I decided to try out the Saran Wrap Ball game.
I have seen it on Pinterest and it looks like a lot of fun!

You will need:
Saran wrap (I bought the largest roll of 400 feet and used it all!)
Treats, toys and whatever else you would like to give
Dice

Here is what we used.

I tried to pick a variety of things I thought men and women would like.
I also included some toys for my nieces and nephews.
I don't think they will play but I figured their parents would spilt the goods with them.
Start wrapping each item with the saran wrap.
Usually the best gift goes in the middle.
I have seen people use many items.
Movie tickets, gift cards, etc.
We did a $5 movie because we are cheap!
I went around each item at least three or four times.
Don't forget to wrap it around all sides to create your ball.
I cut the saran wrap a few times and started rewrapping so they would have to find the edges again.
Wrap until all of your items are in the ball.

To play the player to the right of the person with the saran wrap ball will roll the dice.
As soon as they start rolling the person with the ball will start to unravel it.
As soon as doubles are rolled their turn is up.
They get to keep any of the goodies they got out of the ball.
Continue playing in a circle until the ball is gone.
This will be the first time we play this game.
I will let you know how it goes!

Makeover Monday | Progressive Dinner Edition

Hello everyone!
All of our extra time and money have gone towards the holidays recently...
Which means that we haven't been doing many home projects and as a result the Makeover Monday posts have been suffering.
As I have mentioned my family does a Progressive Dinner each year as one of our Christmas traditions.
The Progressive Dinner was held over the weekend and I thought I could show you how we transformed our house for the event.
We have been doing Progressive Dinner for many years and as a result have repeated the same themes a few times.
I try to make mine somewhat original.
This year we decided to make it Bumble the Abominable Snowman themed, which really is a winter theme with some bumble references.

I made some mountains out of paper and Erik made a Bumble to peek over at our guests.

We added some "snow" made out of white string and cotton balls above our bar where we had all of the food displayed.

Knit ball garlands were hung on the railing and the dining room chandelier.

White plates were placed on an ice blue tablecloth with gray polka dotted napkins.
We placed some cotton balls along the center because you can never have too much fake snow.

We set the kids up in our living room with a similar table setting.
They each got a plastic mint plate that they got to take home afterwards.
We had Rudolph playing on the TV for them to enjoy while they ate.

On our entry table we had white furry stockings for each family to grab on the way out to the next house.
Each kid got a Rudolph board book

Inside the furry stockings:
White rocky candy or "icicles"
Lip balm to keep those lips moisturized in the cold winter months
"Snow" powdered donuts
and Rudolph window clings

I absolutely love the holidays and the family traditions that come with them.
What are some of your family's traditions?
I'd love to hear!

Family Pictures With A Dog

Hello everyone!
I absolutely love sending and receiving Christmas cards.
The only problem is that Erik and I don't always have pictures to go on the cards...
Whenever we don't have a professional picture to put on Christmas cards we usual skip that year.
This year we didn't have any professional pictures but I didn't want that to stop us!
We tried to take our own pictures but it didn't go so well...
Between the self timer, the setting sun and an unpredictable dog we didn't get very good pictures.
However, the pictures we did get were hilarious!
Enjoy!

Makeover Monday | Christmas Tree Udpate

Hello everyone!
Sorry for the short hiatus...
Between the Holidays and a trip to Disneyland life has been a bit cray!
In previous posts I have talked about the "fancy room" my parents had while I was growing up and how it inspired our living room.
I have yet to mention the fancy tree my parents had in that room.
Growing up we had two trees around Christmas time.
One was the family tree with the popsicle and macaroni ornaments, the other was the fancy tree with icicle lights and pink feathered birds.
I have always had a special place in my heart for that tree.
My parents found the ornaments to the fancy tree this year and gave them to us to use in our house.
I did a few things to update the decorations.

First I took off the rosebuds from the cascading crystal ornaments and spray painted the green light cords gold.

I kept everything else the same.

I love how everything comes back into style.
I have seen so many pink and gold christmas trees lately and now we have our own.
It means so much to me to have the ornaments I used growing up in my own home.
What do you think of the update?
